Recently, I watched a movie, which enlightened me to the fact that I have gone through exactly what happened in the movie. In the movie, the protagonist was a high school drop-out and into watching movies. He got himself into a situation where he killed someone in self-defense. The movie shows the protagonist using tactics he got from watching movies, and that tactic was how to hide in plain sight. He avoided those things that point to a person being guilty and by doing so he gets away with murder. The purpose of the story is that we can learn from movies because visual effects affect the human mind. So with that in mind, I’d like to suggest a few survival movies that everyone should watch:

Life of Pi

Life of Pi is a movie that was based on a novel. The protagonist is a boy who spent 227 days on a lifeboat with a tiger after a shipwreck. He was left with a few supplies and a book, which guided his survival tactics. He tamed the tiger and ended up connecting with that animal. Anyone who likes sailing should watch this movie to learn a few survival tactics in the event of a shipwreck.

The Grey

The Grey, starring Liam Neeson, is a movie that was based on a novel. It describes wilderness survival after a plane crash. After a plane crash, six oil workers start their own journey of survival led by a professional hunter. They eventually have to face a pack of wolves. This movie shows many techniques on how to survive in the wild, plus great advice on how to avoid wild animal attacks.

127 Hours

127 Hours is based on the true story of an adventurous mountain climber who while exploring Utah gets his arm stuck under a boulder. The protagonist, Aron Ralston, tried hard to free himself but could not and in the end, has to cut his arm off to survive. It is a great movie to watch for adventurers to gain a few tips.

Cast Away

Cast Away stars Tom Hanks, who first survives a plane crash in the middle of the ocean, and then has to survive stranded on an island. The only thing that provides him strength is the thought of reuniting with the love of his life. If you have not watched this masterpiece then you better watch it now to learn a few tricks for surviving a desert island.

The Revenant

The Revenant, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is a movie, which shows the survival of a man after he is attacked by a bear and left for dead by his own crew. The only thing that kept him motivated to survive was the revenge for his son’s murder. It shows great survival techniques and how to keep a wounded person alive. Leonardo was superb in this movie, he managed to deliver great performance without even really speaking.
